Selecting your keywords has got to be the most important part of your search engine optimization.
Trust me when I tell you this, you do not want the keywords with the most searches.
Why?
Well the most searches usually means HUGE competition.
You want those tightly niched keywords that have little competition, but enough searches.
There are plenty of different tools available on the interent, many free and a lot being sold. So how do you know what is the best to use.
First I want to say that using a combination of different tools available is how I do my keyword research.
I use wordtracker (free and paid versions are available), and then I take my wordtracker results and put them into Keyword Analyzer. This happens to be one of my favorite programs of all times.
When it first came out I thought is was good, but then they came out with an update, and now I love it. It has everything. You go through a tiring process with wordtracker’s competitive search results, but the outcome is more than you even expected.
What I like best about this software is that you can kill two birds with one stone. As I am trying to find the perfect keywords for my website, i am gathering keywords for my adwords campaign.
Keyword Analyzer will show you how many campaigns are currently running for google and overture.
